A street name in a meeting is an anecdote. Forty pins on one block is an argument. Drop a pin where the problem actually is, say what it is in a sentence, and it goes into what we take to the City.

This is not the City's system, and a pin here does not dispatch anyone. If something needs fixing now — a pothole, a dead streetlight, dumping — report it to Get It Done first, because that creates a ticket with a tracking number. Then pin it here too. The City closes tickets one at a time; what it does not see is the pattern, and the pattern is the thing that changes a budget.

Report something

Three steps, no account, about thirty seconds. An email address only if you want to hear back.

What happens to it

Your report is saved, but it does not go on the map yet.
A board member reads it. Every single one, by hand.
If it is a real report about Linda Vista, it appears on the map — usually within a day or two.
When a pattern shows up, it goes into a meeting agenda and into what we send to Council District 7.

Please don't

Name people, post addresses of neighbors you are annoyed with, or report anything that needs the police. Reports like that get deleted rather than approved. If it is an emergency, call 911; if it is a non-emergency crime, call SDPD at 619-531-7000.

What we can see

Everyone sees the pin, the category, the sentence you wrote and the date. Not your name, not your IP address — we don't ask for them and we don't store them.

If you leave an email address, it is kept apart from the report, only board members can read it, and we use it only to tell you what came of this report. We delete it once the issue is closed, and it never goes on a mailing list. Leave the box empty and we have no way to know who you are.
