What we're working on, and what you told us

The council's job is to turn what neighbors actually think into something the City has to answer. These are the two issues in front of us now, with the survey results behind each one.

Speeding on Comstock Street

The posted limit on Comstock is 25 mph. In practice it is not enforced, and in April a driver lost control and totalled three parked cars outside a home on the block.

We took the question to the neighborhood rather than guessing: stop signs, enforcement, speed bumps, or nothing. Forty-nine people answered. The results are what we are taking to the City and to SDPD's traffic division.

Where it stands The survey is closed and the results are below. If speeding on your street is getting worse, bring it to a general meeting — a pattern across several streets is a stronger case than any one block.

The Rapid Route 41 bus lane

SANDAG wants to run a Next Gen Rapid line from Hillcrest to UC San Diego, through Fashion Valley, Linda Vista, Clairemont and University City. A dedicated lane is part of the concept.

Initial planning was completed in 2023. SANDAG is still working to secure the funding to finish planning the route, which is precisely the stage at which a neighborhood position carries weight — before the design is settled.

What the survey showed Two out of three people who answered had never heard of the project at all. That is the number we most want to change, and it is why the council keeps raising Route 41 at meetings rather than treating it as settled.

Every position the council has taken to the City, SANDAG or SDPD, and the reply — including the ones still waiting. An ask with no answer stays on this list rather than quietly disappearing.

Polls we have closed

Results stay up after a poll closes, including the ones that did not go well. A council that only publishes its good numbers is not worth believing when it publishes a good number.

Reviews development and land use in Linda Vista — the Morena Corridor, the Tecolote Canyon sewer project, housing. A separate body from the council, with its own monthly meeting.

Farmers Market

Every Thursday, 2–7pm at Linda Vista Plaza. Run by Love, Linda Vista, with certified farms and food vendors. EBT and WIC accepted, and CalFresh dollars doubled through Market Match.
